Major Kurt Hellman was co-created by Mike with Gerry Finley-Day. The Tank Commander first appeared the inaugural edition of ACTION in February 1976, and was the first German hero in a British comic. Hellman’s highly-principled, anti-Nazis stance resulted in a complex and conflicted character, at once both enemy and patriot.
This artwork depicts Hellman fighting off Russian infantry with his P38 after his Panther has run out of ammunition.
