Captain Gerald Cadman - the Fighting Coward - was created by Mike for VICTOR no. 625 in February, 1973.

Modelled on the anti-hero, ‘Flashman’, by George McDonald Fraser, Cadman lied and scammed his way through World War I, coming out with medals and accolades. Only his bat-man, Tom Smith, was aware of the hero’s cowardly reality. Cadman went on to work for the British Secret Service prior to the World War II, suggesting his deeds were never uncovered.
